New agreement will see 50 extra electric vehicle chargers installed in lamp posts across the London borough.

Lamp posts across the streets of London’s ‘Royal Borough’ will be getting a high-tech makeover in the coming weeks, after a new partnership to deliver electric vehicle charging points was announced yesterday by utility Ovo Energy, Kensington & Chelsea Council, and Berlin-based tech start-up Ubitricity.

The deal will see 50 lamp posts across the borough fitted with EV chargers, using Ubitricity’s charging point technology that integrates into street lamps and delivers renewable electricity from the grid.
